1) RAC RDBMS and infrastructure directories to be copied from the primary node

2) Setup SSH trusts between the nodes.

3) Export oracle home

$ export ORACLE_HOME=/u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.4.rac

4) Relink the oracle binaries.

$ relink all

Check for errors if any.

5) Bring over following files/directories from primary node

$ ORACLE_BASE/admin/<sid>

$ ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/listener.ora

$ ORACLE_HOME/network/admin/tnsnames.ora

6) Restore the database

7) Recover the database.

8) Once RAC database is recovered we need to add services to the Veritas Clustered System (VCS). We need to have the following files on the nodes

/opt/VRTSvcs/bin/Sqlnet

/opt/VRTSvcs/bin/GSD

We must add database name and instance name to servconfig.

$ srvconfig –init

srvctl add database -d <database_name> -o /u01/app/oracle/product/9.2.0.4.rac

srvctl add instance -d <database_name> -i <sid1> -n hostname

srvctl add instance -d <database_name> -i <sid2> -n hostname

Check configuration

srvctl config database -d <database_name>

The following scipts need to be present.

/u01/app/oracle/ol/bin/vcs_make_gsd

/u01/app/oracle/ol/bin/vcs_make_listener

/u01/app/oracle/ol/bin/vcs_make_oracle

The script vcs_make_GSD is required to add GSD services and should only be run once through each node.

After this run the script vcs_make_listener required to add listener services from each node.

The script vcs_make_oracle is required to add database services for each database and required to be run only from one node.

Use the following to stop/start the instance and listeners.

sudo  /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hares –online/offline <sid> -sys <hostname>

sudo /opt/VRTSvcs/bin/hagrp –online/offline sql_net -sys <hostname>
